Geometric representation of interval exchange maps over algebraic number fields

چکیده
This paper is concerned with the restriction of interval exchange transformations (IETs) to algebraic number fields, which leads to maps on lattices. We characterize renormalizability arithmetically, and study its relationships with a geometrical quantity that we call the drift vector. We exhibit some examples of renormalizable IETs with zero and non-zero drift vector and carry out some investigations of their properties. In particular we look for evidence of the finite decomposition property on a family of IETs extending the example studied in [21].

Spaces of quasi-maps into the flag varieties and their applications
Given a projective variety X and a smooth projective curve C one may consider the moduli space of maps C → X. This space admits certain compactification whose points are called quasi-maps. In the last decade it has been discovered that in the case when X is a (partial) flag variety of a semi-simple algebraic group G (or, more generally, of any symmetrizable Kac-Moody Lie algebra) these compacti...

Let $K$ be a field of characteristic$p>0$, $K[[x]]$, the ring of formal power series over $ K$,$K((x))$, the quotient field of $ K[[x]]$, and $ K(x)$ the fieldof rational functions over $K$. We shall give somecharacterizations of an algebraic function $fin K((x))$ over $K$.Let $L$ be a field of characteristic zero. The power series $finL[[x]]$ is called differentially algebraic, if it satisfies...
متن کاملOn Representations of Algebraic-Geometric Codes for List Decoding
We show that all algebraic-geometric codes possess a succinct representation that allows for the list decoding algorithms of [15, 7] to run in polynomial time. We do this by presenting a root-finding algorithm for univariate polynomials over function fields when their coefficients lie in finite-dimensional linear spaces, and proving that there is a polynomial size representation given which the...

متن کاملVector Fields on Manifolds
where n = dim M and 6» = ith Betti number of M ( = dim of Hi(M; Q)). Thus the geometric property of M having a nonzero vector field is expressed in terms of the algebraic invariant xM. We will discuss extensions of this idea to vector ^-fields, fields of ^-planes, and foliations of manifolds. All manifolds considered will be connected, smooth and without boundary; all maps will be continuous. F...
